During the engagement process we seek to learn about the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of your child. We also want to learn about each parent's and/or guardian’s educational dreams, desires and expectations. Upon receipt of the current IEP, the engagement process begins. A C.A.R.E.S Unlimited consultant will conduct a full review of your child’s program, records, and evaluations, and suggest any adjustments needed to ensure the educational success of your child

  • During the initial engagement meeting, a C.A.R.E.S. team member will meet with parents and/or guardians to review the completed Family Questionnaire, listen to concerns and assess the scope of IEP management and/or development services required.

    1-1.5 hours

  • The IEP document is presented for review. The goal of this meeting is to present results of assessments, program recommendations, and answer any questions prior to the implementation of the new IEP.

45 minutes per meeting

Learning Specialist and Psychoeducational Services

Navigating the special education process is an emotional and uncertain time for any parent. Our Learning Specialist and psychoeducational evaluations are designed to support families through that process. Parents and caregivers who work with C.A.R.E.S. can expect a supportive partnership with clear and open communication throughout the entire experience. We will work collaboratively with you and your child’s school to provide the array of services to ensure progress towards IEP goals

Is your child struggling at home or school with behavior or academics? A psychoeducational evaluation can get you some of the answers you've been looking for. During the process for IEP management, we will identify the full accompaniment of services your child will need to gain access to the general education curriculum. Upon receipt of the Family Questionnaire and Services Intake form, we will determine if a psychoeducational evaluation is necessary to begin matching current program recommendations with our team of providers to ensure a smooth transition with our team of educators. C.A.R.E.S. Unlimited places the needs of the child first by offering IEP realignment services to assist with adding related service mandates to their educational program.
